What We Are Fighting For

Health Care Reform:
• Reduce premiums for people that qualify for subsidized health care so struggling families and individuals can afford them.
• Increase the standard of employer coverage, requiring employers to cover half their workers and pay half their insurance cost or be required to pay a $295 per worker assessment.

Affordable Housing:
• Increase funding for Mass rental vouchers to address the housing crisis
• Pass a new housing bond bill to fund construction of new affordable housing and to renovate state-funded public housing

Reforming the CORI System:
• Reduce discrimination against people with criminal records and against people who have had interactions with the criminal justice system but have never been found guilty of a crime.

Protecting the Welfare Safety Net:
• Establish a state welfare program to protect families with major barriers to employment - disabled parents, parents with children under 2, people caring for disabled family members.

Education:
• Improve the Brockton Public Schools. Organizing at the local level to increase equity in education.
• MCAS. Provide alternative assessments to satisfy graduation requirements for students who fail to pass MCAS, and increase state funding for MCAS tutoring programs

English as Second Language Programs:
• Increase state funding for English as Second Language programs, making it possible for people on the waiting lists to get the services they need.

Reducing Exposure to Toxic Chemicals
• Require the replacement of toxic household products with safe alternatives.
